kid update #1

i often enjoy reading the blogs that a parent gives the overview of what new things their child is doing or learning... a baby or a toddler, they're growing and constantly making mommy and daddy giggle and awe over new 'thing'. i love how the blog serves as a reminder to mommy and daddy in the weeks and months and years to come for all that their child has done. from the littliest of things to the biggest of things... rolling over, crawling, walking, cutting teeth, height, diaper size, clothing size, favorite food, favorite toy, weight, etc...

if you know me, you know that i don't have any kids yet.

human kids, anyway...

i will say that furry kids often have the same affect on mommy and daddy...

so here goes...

RANGER

• he is 8 months old
• he weighs at least 70 lbs
• oh - he is a chocolate lab, in case that needed to be clarified
• he eats purina one dog food and drinks water, right out of a bowl
• he likes loves is obsessed with chewing rawhides
• he has figured out how to 'play' with the rawhide... he'll chew one end of it to get it nice and soft so he can sink his teeth into it, then he flings his head from side to side and lets it go so it flies like a bullet across the room
• he loves to have his belly rubbed
• he has 'that' spot when rubbing his belly, his leg will start to kick really hard
• his swinging tail will give you a pretty bruise
• he snores
• he believes that he is a lap dog
• he will wait to be told 'okay' before eating his food or drinking his water after it's been put down
• drool drips from his mouth as he sits, waiting for his food to be put down
• i don't think he chews his food... his mouth serves as a vaccuum and sucks it all up as quickly as possible
• he is always thirsty
• when he drinks, he dips his nose into the water so we he turns to walk/run away, his face is soaking wet
• he can sit, shake, lay down, stay, and speak on command
• he loves to play fetch
• he loves going to the dog park although he has found himself to be the brunt of attraction from other male dogs on several occasions...
• as i type, he is laying on his back in the middle of the floor with his legs up in the air, chewing on his rawhide
• he loves to be the center of attention
• randomly, he goes on an all-out sprint around the living room
• randomly, he goes on an all-out sprint around the backyard in big circles
• he craves attention from kobi even though kobi won't give him the time of day...

KOBI

• he weighs 6 lbs
• he hates ranger
• he is 6.5 years old
• he hates ranger
• oh - he is a toy chihuahua, in case that needed to be clarified
• he hates ranger
• he loves to cuddle
• he hates ranger
• he loves to go on walks
• he hates ranger
• he loves to sleep
• he hates ranger

so i think that about sums up our last few months with our furry kids!
