Dallas-Fort Worth had a snow storm yesterday.
a record-breaking snow storm!
Our city got over 12 inches of snow in a 24-hour period!
12 inches!!! in Texas!!! in one day!!!
once Donal got home from work yesterday, we took a stroll around the neighboorhood...
We joined the rest of our neighboorhood at the park down the street from our house.
It was a sight to see.
A sight you wouldn't normally see, even in the summer time.
There was lots of laughter.
With plastic bags and cardboard boxes as sleds.
And lots of people in sweat pants, jeans, and tennis shoes.
Texans are not prepared for snow.
But my camera was!
I took the rest of these pictures this morning
after a few more inches had fallen overnight.
This was our snowman that Donal and I built last night.
Our naked snowman.
With no corn-cob pipe, no button nose, and no eyes made out of coal.
What is ironic about this snowstorm...
is that this is the week that we are usually
skiing in Colorado
...every year...
for the last 7 years.
With Donal's new job, we weren't able to go this year.
So we were extra excited
that the snow came to us!!
