our day off

it was a very last minute decision for me to take the day off today, but i'm so glad i did! donal was off too so we got up and went to the zoo!! neither one of us had been since we were young so we were - well, at least i will admit that i was - really excited!

it was much busier than we were expecting for a wednesday but we still enjoyed ourselves. we took the new camera and had a grand ole' time snapping shots...

of course, we had to start off with a pretty flower...

hopefully we'll see more of these in hawaii!!

the giraffe's were cute but tiny compared to what we saw here at fossil rim...

the diet coke was hindering me a little, though.

this sign was at the dung beetle exhibit, next to a very large, round, brown piece of dung foam.

when you 'push the dung ball', it feels very squishy and soft...

now we know what dung beetle dung feels like.

just lovely...

these cute little guys were soooo skinny!

and definitely drew a crowd when he did this...
